Esso Honduras river & harbor tug
length 55', beam 17,3''. Model size: length 27 1/2'', beam 8 3/4'' height over mast 15 1/2''.
This little diesel tug was built by the Equitable Equipment Co., probably in the late 1940s and was owned
by the Esso Shipping Co. No historical data has been found on this tug. It may have been built for service
in Central or South America. The plans were drawn by John Fryant based on a construction article by Walter A. Musciano
that appeared in a 1955 issue of Mechanix Illustrated Magazine. Included are three sheets: Outboard profile, deck plan,
hull lines, and frame construction with photo prints of the construction process and of the completed 1/24th scale model.
No instructions for Radio control installation incl. As there is no information available on the real tug, th model can
be "free lanced" to the builders own taste. This one definitely fall into the "cute little tug" category.
