Cop-R-Loy/Detroiter, steam sternwheel towboat, built 1928

Hull 73' x 20' as built. Another boat designed by Wards and built at the Howard Shipyard. The hull was shortened at the time of construction. Owned by Portsmouth Steel Co., later Wheeling steel Corp. Used as a barge transfer boat at the New Boston, Ohio mill. Detroit steel Corp. purchased Portsmouth Steel in January 1950 and the boat was renamed Detroiter. Sold to Capt. Harry F. White, Belle, W. VA.in 1960 and dismantled. The engines are still operational on the Sacramento River in California on the excursion boat "Elizabeth Louise". The hull is still afloat and used as a barge by Madison coal and Supply Co., Charleston, W. VA.

The plans show her as designed by Wards and include outboard profile, all deck plans, paddlewheel details and suggested color scheme. There are no hull lines as she had a scow hull. Notes and additional details on the plan show the changes made at the time of construction. One sheet to 1:48th scale. Model size: 24 1/2' long, 5 1/4'' beam. Photos of both versions incl.
